About the Nominee: Ashley Davis was nominated by her principal, Diana Yarboi. This is the second year she has been nominated for LifeChanger of the Year. She was previously nominated in 2014-15.Mrs. Davis currently teaches both Honors and College Preparatory Human Anatomy and Physiology. Although she has only been teaching for four years, she is an extremely dedicated educator who goes above and beyond to foster her students’ academic and personal development. Her commitment to her students and their academic accomplishments is evident in their success in her course and their desire to pursue further education and careers in the medical sciences.Having earned her Masters' degree in Gifted and Talented Education, Mrs. Davis’ focus is on presenting complex physiological processes in enriching, meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. As a former United Student Body student, Mrs. Davis is highly involved in the school's activities department, serving as the past Class of 2015 Advisor and the current Class of 2019 Advisor. Mrs. Davis also helped start the school’s Academy of Computer and Engineering Sciences and currently serves as a Science Department Chairperson.In addition to having a reputation as an esteemed educator, Mrs. Davis also has an excellent rapport with her students. The interactions and impact she has on her students resonate long after graduation. Many of her former students return to her classroom to visit with her so they can get career advice and assistance with their college-level science courses. Mrs. Davis is truly making a difference at Ruben S. Ayala High School and in her students’ lives.
