About the Nominee: Ashley Spinetto was nominated by a family member, Deborah Rood.Ms. Spinetto is a new teacher who has taken to teaching with an unwavering sense of passion and dedication. Her animal science class prepares many students to pursue their dreams of becoming veterinarians, technicians and courageous ambassadors for the voiceless.Last year, one of Ms. Spinetto's students placed in a state competition in veterinary assisting. She worked hard to prepare and coach this student and others leading up to the competition. According to Deborah, hearing Ms. Spinetto talk about this student standing on the stage receiving their award was like hearing a mother talk proudly of their own child. Ms. Spinetto told Deborah that moment was the first time she knew she had made a true difference in the life of a child, and there has been no turning back.
