About the Nominee: Brenda Kobrin does so much for her students! She doesn't believe they have a limit to their learning and teaches more than what is required. Mrs. Kobrin makes sure her students understand how important it is to be part of the community, as well as the impact they have on the people around them. When her students were learning about recycling, she asked the whole class to bring in bottle caps to keep them from ending up in the ocean. The students turned the bottle caps into art work for the school to keep. They also planted a garden to help them learn about plants and got to watch caterpillars turn into butterflies in their class.Mrs. Kobrin is not only a great teacher, but a team player, too. She helped with the sets during West Hollywood Elementary School's winter and spring shows, even though she was not one of the teachers organizing the shows. Mrs. Kobrin volunteers and helps wherever she can, and her community feels grateful that she is a teacher at West Hollywood Elementary. Her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that their child learned so much while in her class. They wish everyone could have Mrs. Kobrin as a teacher!
