About the Nominee: Christina Shoemaker was nominated by her principal, Carla Meigs.Mrs. Shoemaker and Ms. Meigs have worked together for the past 12 years. According to Ms. Meigs, Mrs. Shoemaker makes math come alive in her classroom. Her students leave her class with a clear understanding of math and how to apply it to real-world situations. Last year, 72% of her students scored in Level 3 and 4 of the assessment for End of Grade (EOG) measures for math and 74% in science. She always has students coming back to visit with her.
