About the Nominee: Clay Blazer was nominated by his principal, Marvin Stewart.Clay Blazer is an excellent teacher with high standards for every student in his charge. He teaches a Leadership class to qualifying students. Dr. Blazer is a member of Leadership Cocke County, and he plans and facilitates the annual day of training for the incoming Leadership Cocke County inductees. He is a member of the Principal's Advisory Council to support the school in all areas. Additionally, Dr. Blazer is the Student Council sponsor and track coach, and he stepped in to teach French for a semester before the school hired a full-time instructor. He has served tirelessly to plan, set up and coordinate Prom for years and brings many personal items to the Prom each year. Dr. Blazer serves as an elected official to the County Legislative Board where he works for the County benefit. He is currently the Chairman of the Cocke County Legislative Body. Dr. Blazer also runs the Scholars Bowl competition for the elementary schools.
