About the Nominee: Cynthia Burnham was nominated by a colleague, Gidget Duran.Mrs. Burnham is a very dedicated teacher and co-worker! She has done so much for her community, students and parents. Like most teachers, she tutors students on her own time, but she also supports community events such as the school Winter Festival. At the festival, staff members "adopt" families and help out anyone who is in need. This event has been happening at El Dorado Middle School for the last ten years. Prior to that, it occured at another school for 15 years. Mrs. Burnham has faced some health difficulties over the past year, but she still comes to work. In her words, "I feel alive when I am here. These kids are the best medicine." Her students brighten her day and make her smile. Even students who are now seniors in high school still come to see her.
