About the Nominee: Dr. Tonya Goree was nominated by a member of her community, Marcia Lawson.Dr. Goree has over 26 years of experience in education, with seven years of experience as principal. In that time, the campuses under her leadership have flourished. At her current campus, students made gains in all academic areas on last year's testing. As a result, the campus was awarded the Gold Level of the Superintendent's Incremental Growth Award.Dr. Goree truly believes that both teachers and students are lifelong learners. She facilitates video coaching opportunities with teachers each year, growing the capacity and skill set of Francone's teachers to ensure that each child gets the best education possible. High expectations are set for teachers and students alike, with everyone in the building working towards the same common goal - student success.The Francone community is grateful to have the 2015-2016 CFISD Elementary Principal of the Year making a difference in the lives of their students!
