About the Nominee: Leann Jenkins was nominated by Gayle Carlock.When Ms. Carlock walked into Ms. Jenkins' classroom, she thought she had walked into a science class. It was an English Language Arts class! Ms. Jenkins and her students were dressed in surgery garb performing "paragraph surgery." This is just one example of how she has her students engaged in learning. Students love to come to her class to see what they will experience next as they learn. Ms. Jenkins has inspired her co-workers to go that extra step to make learning fun, yet challenging for their students. She was recently named Teacher of the Month at her school. Ms. Jenkins upholds high moral and ethical standards in her public as well as private life. She is exactly what you see - a teacher dedicated to nurturing her students while making a difference in their lives.
