About the Nominee: Pam Harris was nominated by her principal, Courtney Painter.Pam Harris is the ESL teacher at Griffis Elementary School. This year, she started a parent program where the school's second language learner parents could come to her class each morning for English classes. She helped them with campus communication (newsletters, homework, forms, etc.), and with speaking English. The biggest outcome of this program is that these parents became a part of Griffis Elementary's campus. They began volunteering and were visible on campus every day. Mrs. Harris helped ESL parents feel comfortable with becoming a part of a predominately English-speaking campus.
