About the Nominee: Coach Lawver came to London ISD after spending over 20 years in the US Army. Upon retirement from the Army, he volunteered in the district in any way he was able. He was a volunteer coach and mentor for over a year before he was hired as a physical education teacher and coach for the junior high school. A couple years later, Coach Lawver attended School Marshal training to become the district's safety officer. He is also coaching boys' varsity basketball this year.Coach Lawver goes above and beyond his normal daily duties. He mentors students both in and out of school, and he guides and motivates them in their future endeavors. If there is a student-athlete that has goals of playing at the collegiate level, he will get on the phone and on the road to help them achieve this dream. He is also the "go to" man for any motivational talk one might be seeking.Coach Lawver is a role model, and any district would be lucky to have him!
