About the Nominee: Sharon Angeloni was nominated by her principal, Derrick Hibler.Sharon Angeloni has been a classroom teacher at KEC/Canal Point Elementary School since August 1992. Ms. Angeloni is an integral, valuable staff member; she actively participates in monthly staff meetings by volunteering her thoughts and ideas, examining student data and making instructional decisions with her teammates. She has been the grade chair at all grade levels, and is currently the 5th grade chair.Ms. Angeloni is responsible for planning reading and writing lessons for her students. These lessons include hands-on activities and clear connections to complex informational text. They are always prepared ahead of time and shared with her teammates for review. Ms. Angeloni greets new challenges as a learning opportunity, asks for support when needed, incorporates her own thoughts and ideas into program development and persistently tries new things with her students. Her classroom environment is a relaxed, engaging, and reflective learning environment. All of her students love being in her classroom each day.Ms. Angeloni is a reflective educator who listens to feedback from colleagues and administration. She often seeks out her teammates, colleagues and other school resources to provide support for her instruction.
