About the Nominee: Susan Hanson was nominated by her assistant principal, Laura Tate.Mrs. Hanson is a LifeChanger in the Edgewood community. She's currently a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run, which is for female students in grades 3-5. As part of this program, Mrs. Hanson presents lessons to students on character and confidence. The girls also learn about setting goals to strive for and attain.Mrs. Hanson has also been instrumental in helping to build a school-wide character and recognition program that encourages students to be their best. The goal of this program is to recognize all students who are achieving their personal best. She has helped the administration build a pool of community sponsors to provide awards to students as a part of this program.Mrs. Hanson has also been a McWane Science Center Camp coordinator. The McWane Science Center is a wonderful community staple; many students visit with their families and participate year-round. Mrs. Hanson has also helped organize math nights and science nights for her district's schools. Her dedication to her community does not go unnoticed. She is loved by all and is a wonderful LifeChanger!
