About the Nominee: Tameka Scott was nominated by her principal, Teresa Martin.Tameka Scott has served as the Instructional Lead Teacher at Sweetwater Elementary School for the past two years. She works with other teachers by looking at their classroom data, modeling lessons, providing professional learning and engaging teachers in challenging themselves to implement rigorous instructional strategies while supporting the learning needs of their students. Mrs. Scott meets regularly with school administrators to plan teacher training and parent workshops and complete documentation as required for Title I. She not only works with teachers; she serves as Sweetwater Elementary's Title I Parent Outreach Facilitator. Mrs. Scott works with parent volunteers, plans and executes parent workshops and oversees the school's Parent Resource Center. She also collaborates with other Title I Instructional Lead Teachers in the school system. These experiences have helped her develop lasting relationships with parents and community members.
