With teachers retiring earlier than other professions (typically around age 59), and retirement being the leading reason educators leave the field (accounting for 16% of departures), closing any financial gaps is not only important, but essential.

She serves as a mentor to new teachers, providing guidance and support in navigating the challenges of the profession. She'll be speaking about financial wellness from the perspective of an educator who's early in their career.

    Silene is a dedicated educator and instructional coach with over 14 years of experience in early childhood education. Currently, Silene serves as a Transformation Coach in Orangeburg County School District, where she supports teacher growth, strengthens instructional practices, and leads impactful professional learning. She'll be speaking about financial wellness from the perspective of a mid-career educator.
