About the Nominee: Joy Warren was nominated by a colleague, Jacqueline Pennington.Ms. Warren has been instrumental in leading Clements Middle School (CMS) and its students to achieve standardized test scores that surpass the state average. Ms. Pennington, who has been teaching for 22 years in the Newton County School System, says that she has never seen such excellent scores. By implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) in CMS, Ms. Warren has promoted a positive school climate and a culture conducive to learning. Office referrals have been reduced substantially, and students enjoy several positive incentives for their good behavior throughout the year. She's a leader who not only cares, but is committed to promoting excellence and a quality education without excuses!
