About the Nominee: Rana Raughton has been teaching at Bowdon Elementary School (BES) for the past 20 years. During this time, her focus has been on teaching third and fourth grade students. While teaching in both grade levels, Mrs. Raughton has found success with her students. She is very organized and is always focused on what is assigned to students. Her classroom is free of clutter and confusion, and she uses as much technology as possible during her instruction. During her tenure at BES, Mrs. Raughton has served as team leader and leadership chair. She relies heavily on the data she collects from formative assessments to help her make instructional decisions and revamp her lessons. Mrs. Raughton is a leader of teaching math and science at BES!
