About the Nominee: Kelly Soberoski is a LifeChanger who embraces teaching the whole child! She understands that involving the community and families is key to creating meaning and learning that will impact students and provide real life opportunities for them.Ms. Soberoski has worked with various businesses and community stakeholders to create Longleaf Elementary's first outdoor classroom, which they are currently working to improve. In addition to working with Eagle Scouts to furnish an outdoor stage, she has also volunteered countless hours to creating an animal area where classrooms can work with chickens, a rooster, turtles and other animals. She works with the Lamar County Conservation office to incorporate the outdoor classroom, where time is spent growing and harvesting various vegetation. Ms. Soberoski encourages other classrooms to work with the outdoor classroom and adopt garden boxes. Her passion for teaching and providing hands-on experiences invites local community members to share their trades openly with the students.
