About the Nominee: Kristin Zavala is a teacher who always goes above and beyond for her students and community. She pays out of her own pocket for weekly cooking groups and classroom materials. She also organizes field trips and school wide events. Last year, she had Mad Science come out to the school, as well as a live reptile show. Mrs. Zavala tailors her instruction to each student and always tries to include their parents and families in what she does in her classroom. She is also on the PTA, as her son is a first grader at Rogers. Mrs. Zavala constantly amazes and inspires those around her when it comes to how much time and effort she dedicates to her students!
