About the Nominee: Mellodie Stratman was nominated by Kathryn Mikronis, the parent of a student.Ms. Stratman is an exceptional teacher. At Coyote Trail Elementary, she heads the bridge program for special needs students. She saw that the special needs children were unable to access the playground, so she went into action. The bridge program staff held many fundraisers, reached out to the local rotary club and received support from the local PTO to construct a playground with sensory tables, adaptive tricycles, a wheelchair swing and many other hexes of equipment. If she were to win a cash prize, it would be invested into this playground for a shade structure. She is an incredible LifeChanger!
